Edson Arantes do Nascimento (better known as Pelé), one of greatest Brazilian soccer players and its leading scorer. He joined Santos Football Club in 1956 and led it to world club championship. From his inside left position he also started on Brazil's national team and brought it to three triumphs in World Cup competition. Known as world's highest paid athlete. He retired in 1971.
