Lake Toba, The Largest Lake in Indonesia

It can't be denial that Indonesia has many tourist resort which are no less beautiful and no less interesting than Bali, Yogya and some other places in this country. Lake Toba in Medan, North Sumatera is one of such resort. Lake Toba is one of the beautiful and the largest lake in Indonesia, its about 75 kilometers wide, with a large island in it, Samosir. It's not too difficult to get there. An excellent road, partly winding through the mountains links in Medan. A taxi will easily cover the distance in three and half hour. Medan itself is only two hours flying from Jakarta.

What has Lake Toba offered to the traveler? is it really worth visiting? first of all that is a beautiful grandeur of nature. The mountains around the lake, the mountains streams, the forest and the island on the lake all posses a beauty which is a challenge to the imaginations. Relaxing on the boat, watching the top of mountains of contentment rarely felt before. For those who more actively inclined may find enjoyment in water skiing, rowing, and exploring the island.
