Pramoedya Ananta Toer

Pramoedya Ananta Toer (1925 – 2006) was born on February 6, 1925, in the town of Blora, Central Java. He was one of famous Indonesian author of novels, short stories, essays, polemic and histories of his homeland and its people. He earned several accolades, and was frequently discussed as Indonesia's and Southeast Asia's best candidate for a Nobel Prize in Literature. He died on April 30, 2006 at the age of 81.
